I spend a lot of time looking at my work as I create it. Or thinking about what’s next.
But it’s also good to look back.
What was I thinking as I created this artwork?
Would I do it differently now?
And, as an artist, how do I go about describing and explaining my own work? To those readers who are also artists, how do you go about describing and explaining your own work?
This little video is only a little over three minutes. I hope you’ll take a listen.
Note: The format of this video was Q&A. The moderator asked a question and I answered it. But the questions are not in this edited video. I was especially interested in the question towards the end, “How do you tell if an artwork is a powerful work?” I enjoyed thinking about and answering that one.
Great questions. Enjoy.

Thank you for reading. I always enjoy questions and comments.
