I created this bright, intensely colored floral when I was working on the other abstract landscape collage pieces in this series. It is not actually abstract – just loosely, expressively representational. It is created in the same way, however. I wanted to have a playful experience of creating a floral work, hoping to fill the finished work with exuberance.  This work combines painting, drawing and collaged layers of fabric; when  the materials are collaged together, the fibers of the fabrics bond to the muslin substrate.

Finishing: bound and backed with charcoal-colored eco felt. The back has a hanging pocket and a rod, for traditional hanging tapestry presentation.
