Dance of the Survivors

$1,200.00

46”H x30”W

As soon as I pulled these carrots from the ground I laughed out loud. Their gnarled, quirky shapes made me think of dancing creatures. They inspired me to think of those who have been through a lot, who may no longer be perfectly shaped, but who choose to celebrate. Let's dance!

This quilt traveled to eleven venues in 5 countries with 100,000 visitors from 2014-2016 as part of SAQA's traveling exhibit, "Redirecting the Ordinary."

Hand-printed monotype images on rice paper and fabric • painted fabric • acrylic paints • muslin,  canvas, polyester felt • machine stitching • collage construction with acrylic medium.

This work is finished as an art quilt: fabric bound edge and fabric-backed.  The back has a pocket and slat for hanging display.

PRICE INCLUDES FREE SHIPPING AND SALES TAX. (FREE for shipments via regular ground service, to addresses in the contiguous US)
