Where we’ve been – where we are. Each of us carries inside where we have been. Our memories and journeys comprise who we are. I enjoy suggesting those elements with trees, water and shadows. At the same time, it is pleasing to be at home and at peace with where we are. The simple elements of domestic life – favorite serving pieces on a table – can speak to this satisfaction. A simple still life composition becomes a portrait and part of a story.

Original fabrics: hand printed (monotypes, relief prints, resists and stencils) with acrylic paint on cotton muslin and sheer fabrics, collaged and stitch construction, with machine stitched details. Original photos transferred to fabric. Finishing: bound fabric-backed. The back has a hanging pocket and a rod, for traditional hanging tapestry presentation without frame. All collaging is with archival matte acrylic medium, which also protects the surface.

Arriving At Morning was juried for exhibit in “Represensational 2023” at Heartland Art Gallery in Kirkwood, Missouri where it exhibited August 16 - October 21, 2023. It is now avaiable for purchase.
