What happens when we fly away?
We keep our home inside us.

The thick, textured bird nest and the branch connecting two houses suggest the richness and complexity of our ties to home.

The work is created with archival acrylic paints and mediums on fabric. Image-making includes monotype printing, resists, stenciling and direct painting. Digital transfers to muslin of original photos.  Collaged and sewn construction with surface machine stitching for texture. The surface is sealed with a coating of acrylic medium.

Finishing: bound and backed with hand-painted fabric. The back has a hanging pocket and a rod, for traditional hanging tapestry presentation.
