32.5”H x 41”W Houses take flight into a neutral hued sky with celestial swirls. Where are they headed? Will they come back?
The work is created with archival acrylic paints and mediums on fabric. Image-making includes monotype printing, resists, stenciling and direct painting. Collaged and sewn construction with surface machine stitching for texture. The surface is sealed with a coating of acrylic medium.
Finishing: bound and backed with hand-painted fabric. The back has a hanging pocket and a rod, for traditional hanging tapestry presentation.
This artwork was juried into the SAQA traveling Exhibit: ALOFT. It travelled to multiple exhibition venues in 2022-2023.
